Integrate with Ford Pro

To use this integration, contact your Samsara representative.

Samsara enables you to connect your Ford vehicles with embedded telematics to the Samsara dashboard, with just a click of a button. Instead of installing a Samsara Vehicle Gateway, Samsara can pull data from the on-board embedded telematics.

Requirements

• Ford: Vehicle requirements:

  • US, Canada, and Europe only

  • Must have Ford Pro-embedded telematics:

    • All 2020+ vehicles

    • Select 2018-2019 vehicles with high trim packages

• Samsara: None

Deployment

1. Create a Ford Pro Account.

   If you do not yet have access to the Ford Pro Admin Console, please contact Ford Pro customer support by email at [e-mail] or by phone at 833-327-3673 (US). You will need to provide the following information to Ford Pro:

   • Telematics Service Provider (TSP): Samsara

   • Ford FIN (Fleet Identification Number)

   • Company

   • Address

   • City

   • State

   • Zip

   • Country

   • First Name

   • Last Name

   • Title

   • E-Mail Address

   • Phone

2. To complete the account set up:

   1. Look for a welcome e-mail from [e-mail] (you may want to check your spam in case it may have been sent there).

   2. Click the link in the body of the e-mail to create a password.

   3. You will then be directed to your Fleet Account.

   If you cannot find this confirmation email, you can also navigate to http://fleetaccount.ford.com/ and select Forgot Password? to have another confirmation e-mail sent your way.

3. Configure consent within the Ford Pro Admin Console:

   1. Select the Ford vehicles you want to sync between Samsara and Ford Pro, click Bulk Actions, and provide consent for Ford Pro to share this information with Samsara.

      (Optional) To avoid needing to return to the Ford Pro Admin Console for each new vehicle, provide auto-consent to Samsara.

      

   2. Copy your Ford Pro Admin Console UUID (you will need this for the next step).

      

4. Add vehicles within the Samsara dashboard:

   1. Navigate to Settings > Apps.

   2. Click on Ford Pro App and add your Ford Pro Admin Console UUID.

   3. From the Inactive tab, select the vehicles you want to activate within Samsara.

      If you do not see vehicles show up on this list, then navigate to your Ford Pro portal and confirm that the VIN is listed in your Ford Pro portal and you have provided consent to Samsara to ingest data for the given vehicle. (We recommend turning Auto-Consent Settings On.) If the vehicles are not listed in this portal, contact the Ford Pro team ([e-mail] or 833-327-3673) to verify vehicle ownership.

      Tip

      Make sure that your vehicle has been keyed-on in the past 7 days otherwise enrollment will fail. If this is the case, then your vehicle will show up in the Inactive category.

      After activation, Samsara will stream all information from Ford as it is available.

Enrollment States

Status	Description	Remediation
Eligible to activate	No enrollment request has been submitted to the vehicle.	Click Activate to trigger an enrollment request. The vehicle will process the enrollment request at next key-on.
Pending enrollment from Ford Data Services™	An enrollment request was submitted to the vehicle. The vehicle will receive and process the request at next key-on.	Take your vehicle for a 5-minute drive in an area with adequate cellular signal. Note It may take up to 15 minutes for the vehicle to process the request and show up in the vehicle. Note Enrollment requests expire after 7 days, so key-on your vehicle within 7 days of hitting the button. Note Enrollment requests can only be processed for vehicles that have been keyed-on in the past 7 days, otherwise the request will automatically fail.
Pending unenrollment from Ford Data Services™	An unenrollment request was submitted to the vehicle. The vehicle will receive and process the request at next key-on.	Take your vehicle for a 5-minute drive in an area with adequate cellular signal. After the unenrollment request is processed, the vehicle will stop reporting data to Ford/Samsara.
Not eligible to activate	The vehicle is not equipped with embedded telematics.	We recommend purchasing a Samsara VG hardware unit to plug into your vehicle.
Failed to enroll vehicle from Ford Data Services™	The enrollment did not succeed.	Ensure that the vehicle's Customer Connectivity Settings (CCS) are enabled, and that the vehicle is in a location with adequate data coverage. Checking connectivity settings: Ignition On your vehicle. Press the Settings button on the Touch Screen. Press Ford Pass Connect. Press Connectivity Settings. Look for Vehicle Connectivity, Location, and Vehicle Data & Remote Control and make sure all sliders are to the right. Make adjustments, if needed. After all steps are completed, turn off the vehicle. Retry Key-On: Check that the vehicle is off. On the Samsara dashboard, press Retry next to the target VIN to submit for re-enrollment. Ignition On your vehicle. Then, drive the vehicle around again.
