For hardware-free reefer monitoring and remote control, you can connect eligible Thermo King refrigeration systems to the Samsara dashboard via an API-based integration.
The integration includes the following features:

Contact your Samsara sales representative to obtain a Thermo King API credentials application.

Send the completed application to tracking@thermoking.com. Thermo King will provide detailed instructions on how to set up a TracKing account.

After a TracKing account has been activated, send tracking@thermoking.com a list of reefer serial numbers that you want to add to the Samsara platform.

Update the External ID in your reefer settings:

Log in to the TracKing portal.

Select the reefer you want to integrate with Samsara and then select reefer settings.

In the reefer settings window, ensure the External ID field matches the Vehicle Name.
If the External ID is blank, copy and paste the Vehicle Name in this field.

Activate the Thermo King application on the Samsara dashboard:

Navigate to Settings > Apps > Available Apps and search for Thermo King.

Install application by entering the credentials provided by Thermo King.
Devices can take up to 30 minutes to initially update. If devices do not show up within an hour, contact Samsara support.

After the application is installed, navigate to the Thermo King application under the Enabled Apps tab and select manage.

Select the reefer units you want to activate and then click Activate. Batch activation is also available to select multiple units at a time.

Navigate to the Samsara dashboard to view your newly added reefers.

Does this require two separate subscriptions?
Yes, this integration requires customers to maintain two separate product subscriptions; one with Thermo King and another with Samsara.
At what frequency will my reefer data update on Samsara?
Thermo King sends data at different rates depending on the your TracKing subscription.
What if my Thermo King reefer does not have the required hardware?
Contact your local Thermo King dealer for information on hardware retrofits of existing systems.
Why can’t I find my reefer in the inactive section of the Thermo King application?
This error typically occurs when a reefer has not been added by Thermo King. If the reefer is active on TracKing and not on Samsara, contact Samsara support.
