Create a Driver
Use the following instructions to create a driver profile for your fleet. After you create a driver profile, you can edit the driver information from the Samsara Dashboard Settings.
Note
Log-in information, including Driver ID, Password, and Fleet name, is case sensitive. Driver password can only be changed from the Samsara Dashboard.

Select the Settings icon ( ) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
- Within Organization settings, select Drivers.
- Select + Add a driver.
- Complete the driver information.
- Select Save to confirm the driver details.
Edit Driver Information or Change Driver Password

Select the Settings icon ( ) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
- Within Organization settings, select Drivers.
- Click the more actions menu ( ... ) > Edit on the driver row.
- Edit the driver information or to change the password, locate the Driver App Login settings and click Change Password.
- Save to confirm the changes.
Deactivate a Driver
If a driver leaves or rejoins your organization, you can easily deactivate or reactivate the driver in the Samsara Cloud Dashboard.
When you deactivate a driver, the historical records remain in the Samsara Dashboard. After 30 days, the driver's name will only display in the Driver HOS report if the driver was active in the dashboard during the selected time range.
Important
Before you deactivate a driver in your Samsara Cloud, ensure that the driver has no active sessions in the app and has successfully signed out of the application.

Select the Settings icon ( ) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
- Within Organization settings, select Drivers > Active Drivers.
- Locate the driver from the list or Search for the driver name.
- Click the more actions menu ( ... ) > Deactivate on the driver row.

Select Ok to confirm driver deactivation.
Reactivate a Driver
To reactivate a driver, perform the following workflow:

Select the Settings icon ( ) at the bottom of your Fleet menu to view dashboard settings.
- Within Organization settings, select Drivers > Deactivated Drivers.
- Locate the driver from the list or Search for the driver name.
- Click the more actions menu ( ... ) > Reactivate.
- Select Ok to confirm the driver reactivation.
