Since the Samsara Driver App works on most iOS or Android devices, fleets have unlimited choices for which you can deploy for use by your drivers. With a customizable tile in the Samsara Driver App home screen, you can make it easier for drivers to navigate between applications on their in-cab device, which makes for more efficient workflows and a better driver experience.
The Samsara Driver App home screen can scroll horizontally to accommodate more apps. Custom tiles are always added furthest to the right of the home screen.
To add a custom tile, perform the following workflow:

Navigate to Settings > Driver App.

Select the Features tab.

Select Add Tile.
An Add custom tile window will appear:

Enter a descriptive Tile Name.
The name of the tile has a limit of 15 characters to ensure the name displays appropriately in the Samsara Driver App. We recommend you verify specific devices for how the name displays, as it may vary from device to device.

Enter the Deep Link or URL to the location the tile will take the driver to.
After the driver taps on the tile, the deep link or URL is the location the tile will take the driver to. URLs open in the device's default internet browser. Deep links support both Android and iOS links, and the device must have the relevant app installed to link to it. To find the relevant link scheme for an external app, please review the documentation for that app, or reach out to the application developer.

Select the color of how the tile will appear on the driver app.

Select Done.
Once the tile is added, drivers can see the tile on the home screen of the driver app and use it to link out to the relevant destination as part of their workflow. The edit button allows changes to the set up.
