Supported Devices for the Samsara Driver App

The Samsara Driver App is designed to run on most modern iOS and Android devices, including phones and tablets.  The following devices are recommended for the Samsara Driver App.

The following device and specification recommendations are only intended for the best use and operation of the Samsara Driver App. These recommendations may differ from the recommendations of other third-party applications, such as navigation apps. Additional models may also be supported as long as they are also not on the unsupported devices list.

Unsupported Devices

The following devices are not supported for use with the Samsara Driver App:

• Android 5.0 Lollipop or older

  Android devices with processors that use x86 instruction set

• iOS 12.1.4 or older

• Chrome OS devices 

  Chromebooks, Chrome Tablets, Acer Chromebook Tab 10

• Windows Mobile OS

• FireOS devices (Amazon Devices)

  Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HDX

• Nextbook devices

• Ematic devices

• RCA devices

Install the Samsara Driver App on a Garmin 7xx Series Device

Garmin devices utilize the Android operating system, but they do not support the Google Play Store. In order to install the Samsara Driver App on these devices, you can install the app directly onto most Garmin 7xx Series tablets:

The APK file is not compatible with Garmin DEZL 700.

1. To permit the app installation on your device, go to Settings > Security, and enable Unknown sources. 

2. Download the APK file to the Garmin device (see Driver App Release Notes).

3. From the Downloads app, tap APK.

4. Tap Install to continue installation.

   After installation is complete, the Garmin Navigate will automatically launch Routes in the Samsara Driver App.
