After you create a route, you can assign the route to a driver. You can also leave a route unassigned to allow drivers to select their own route assignments in the Samsara Driver App. When this setting is disabled, all routes must be assigned by a fleet administrator to be viewed in the Driver App.
To enable driver selection of unassigned routes, you must enable the feature in the Settings > Driver App > Routes. This is a fleet-wide setting. Toggling this setting on affects all drivers in your organization and cannot be applied to individual drivers within a fleet.
After the driver selection of unassigned routes setting is enabled, the setting applies fleet-wide and cannot be applied to individual drivers. Drivers must select an unassigned route when their device is connected to the internet. Offline route selection may not complete successfully.
Note
After a route is selected by a driver, it cannot be deselected in the Driver App. To edit the route driver, select more options (...) > Edit.
The driver logs into the Driver App selects a vehicle.
The driver taps the Routes tile, then chooses their route under the Today or Future tab. The Future tab displays routes occurring within the next two days.

Two drivers cannot select the same route. If two drivers simultaneously attempt to select a single route, the app will not allow one driver to continue and will redirect them to the unassigned route selection page.
The driver selects the route to assign to themselves and confirms the selection with Select route. The route now displays in their queue of upcoming routes.
