To facilitate downloading vehicle and driver tachograph files automatically, you can install a Tachograph Card Reader. When the card reader is installed and your vehicles have been locked to the company card inserted, downloads will start automatically. Vehicle files will download every seven active days and the card reader attempts to retrieve driver files daily. The downloads can only be authenticated when the company card is inserted correctly.

Before you begin, ensure that the card reader and connected Vehicle Gateway (VG) are installed in an area with good cellular connection.
This will ensure that there is always a solid connection to download the Tachograph files.
We also recommend that you Connect the Vehicle Gateway to a Local Wi-Fi Network. To add the network, you will need the Network Name, Encryption Type, and either the passphrase or credentials required for authentication.

Verify the status LED on the Vehicle Gateway (VG) is a solid green.

Connect the Tachograph card reader to the USB port on VG.

To test the assignment, fully insert the card into the reader, with the chip side facing toward the HID logo.
Make sure the LEDs on both card reader and VG are solid green.
