If the vehicle location is unknown or cannot be determined, the driver log will not show the location. To avoid the missing location, you can enable the Samsara Driver App to force drivers to specify a location if the vehicle location cannot be be determined and the driver switches a duty status. You can configure the option to Force Manual Location for Duty Status Changes as part of your Customizable HOS Settings (Settings > Compliance).
With the Force Location on HoS Logs feature enabled, the following changes will occur:

When a driver is changing duty status and does not have an associated vehicle location, the app will now force the driver to enter text in the Location field.

If the location is pulled automatically, the location will not need to be entered by the driver.
