Enhanced security related alerts allow you to configure your security notifications to be more prominent in your Samsara dashboard. With enhanced visibility enabled for security alerts, your Fleet Overview ( 
) displays a red banner for 24 hours and allows you to dismiss and manage alerts directly from the red banner.
Note
To dismiss alerts, you must either be a Full Admin or have a custom role with alert edit permissions. See Administrative Roles for more information on admin permissions.
The following alert types are available for enhanced security alert notifications:

Risk Zone Alert

Out of Route Alert
-
GPS and Cell Signal Loss Alert (Mexico only)

Panic Button alerts

From the Samsara dashboard, select Alerts (
) > Configured Alerts. -
Select the alert to view configuration options.

Configure the alert settings.
The configuration options will vary for each alert. For example, you can configure the time threshold, distance threshold, define the alert for Risk Zone geofences only, and set the alert source (all Vehicle Gateways (VGs), specific tags, or specific VGs).

Select Allow alert banner in Fleet Overview to display the red banner in your Fleet Overview when an alert triggers.

Save to confirm the alert settings.

When an alert is triggered, click on the red banner in your Fleet Overview (
) to view or manage all alerts triggered within the last 24 hours that have the alert banner enabled. -
Click Incident details for more information on the alert or Dismiss the alert for your entire organization and to take no further action.

For further remediation of vehicles equipped with an engine immobilizer, you can view the alert and disable the vehicle when you select the asset from the alert or from Fleet Overview (
).
