Use the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Trends Report to view charging trends over time by vehicle or by location to help you monitor charging behaviors, maximize the utilization of vehicles, and minimize energy bills. To view this report, select on Fuel & Energy ( ) > EV Charging.
For each vehicle or location, the EV Charging Report displays the total number of charges, total charge time, and total kWh charged over the selected time period. The report only displays information on charging events that are greater than five minutes. To narrow the scope of the results, you can use the search or tags.
Samsara EV features rely on VIN classification. You may need to manually enter your VIN into the dashboard for Samsara's VGs to enable these features. If you do not see the SOC and energy consumption for your vehicles, please submit feedback through the Dashboard for the Product Management team.
For Nissan Leafs 2011-2017 and Chevrolet Bolt 2017-2018, we have a special cable to help read diagnostic information. To request a cable swap, email electric-vehicles@samsara.com.
If you have not driven since February 6, 2020, we may not have yet connected to your vehicle. On your next drive, you should see information flowing in for these vehicle types as part of the latest over-the-air firmware release.
From the Charging Trends report, you can also view a more granular charging events report by location or vehicle. To view the vehicle-specific EV Charging report in the Vehicle tab, select the vehicle line item from the Charging Trends list. You can view the location-based EV Charging report from the Location tab where you can select the location name to view details about charge events including: vehicle name, percentage of SOC at the start and end of the charge, total kWh accumulated during charge, start, end, and total duration of the charge.
