[en] Samsara Data Export Types

[en] To streamline business operations and save data you later want to preserve, you can export ELD, Safety, and additional data. There are two ways to export data: from the Samsara API or directly from the Samsara dashboard in comma-separated values (CSV) format.

[en] If you use the API method to export, ensure that you have an API token with Read permissions available for the data you want to export. For more information regarding API tokens, see API Basics.

[en] For each data type, you can use the date selector to customize the time frame of the data you want to export. Use the Download CSV function that is available from the more actions menu (...) on each report.

[en] Driver HOS Logs	[en] API: Ensure that you have an API token with Read permissions available for ELD Compliance Settings (US). To export the daily HOS charts for specified drivers, see the Driver HOS Logs API endpoint. [en] Samsara dashboard: You can export driver data on a per-driver basis from Compliance.
[en] HOS Violations	[en] API: Ensure that you have an API token with Read permissions available for ELD Compliance Settings (US). To export all driver HOS violations, see the HOS violations API endpoint. This API endpoint is currently in beta. [en] Samsara dashboard: You can export HOS violations from Reports.
[en] Unassigned HOS	[en] Samsara dashboard: You can export unassigned HOS logs from Reports.
[en] Driver Information	[en] API: Ensure that you have an API token with Read permissions available for Drivers. To export a list of all drivers in your organization, see the driver information API endpoint. [en] Samsara dashboard: You can export driver information from Settings.

To export all Jurisdiction IFTA reports for the requested duration, see the IFTA Jurisdiction reports API endpoint. To export all IFTA Vehicle reports, see the IFTA Vehicle reports API endpoint. [en] Safety Scores	[en] API: Ensure that you have an API token with Read permissions available for Safety Events & Scores. To export the safety score of a driver, see the safety score API endpoint. [en] Samsara dashboard: You can export data on all drivers from Reports. The download will not include a date in the title, save this report with the date parameters selected.
[en] Video Retrievals	[en] Samsara dashboard: You can export videos from the Video Library from Safety. Ensure that all high-priority events are downloaded for reference.
