If your Site Gateway requires replacement for any reason, you can replace it with a new one. Before you initiate replacement, save any footage that you want to retain to your Samsara Library or a personal/shared drive. For more information, see Download and Share Clips.

From the Samsara dashboard, select Devices > Site Gateways.

Select the gateway you want to deactivate.
The dashboard displays the gateway summary including details about the hardware, status, and any attached cameras.

Note the gateway serial number to ensure that you deactivate and return the correct gateway.

In the row for each camera, select the more actions ( ••• ) menu and then click Delete.
Removing the cameras will help to prevent naming duplication when the cameras are added back onto your replacement gateway. Historical footage will not be accessible once the gateway is removed from the dashboard.

After all cameras are removed, click the settings icon () in the top right corner.

Scroll down and click Delete Device.

Select the Settings icon ( ) at the bottom of your Sites menu to view dashboard settings.

Select Gateways > Activate Devices and then follow the instructions to Activate your Samsara Site Gateway.

Return the old hardware to Samsara if a return is authorized. For more information, see https://www.samsara.com/support/hardware-warranty.
If the old hardware is not eligible for return, dispose of it properly in accordance with your local recycling process. To find the recycling guidelines for your area, consult your local Recycling Center.
