Integrate with NCR PowerYard

Reduce gate time for arriving and departing vehicles with alerts and bolster reporting accuracy on trailer contents and current location with the PowerYard integration to Samsara.

The integration includes the following features:

• Automated Last Stop reporting of contents of trailer (Trailer, PO Number, and Load Detail) when trailer leaves last stop before returning to yard.

• Automated Gate Process to check trailers in and out of the yard when vehicle/trailer enters or exits and geofence yard boundary.

• Updating of NCR PowerYard with exact position of trailers and temperature if reefer is in use.

Requirements

• PowerYard:

  • Subscription license version 5.x or later

  • Setup and configuration of PowerYard YMS API Web Service:

    • Install and configure SSL Certificate

    • Setup to accept calls from Samsara webhooks

• Samsara:

  • Samsara API token with read scope

  • Register the PowerYard webhook handlers under Samsara Settings > Webhooks and configure the appropriate Samsara Alerts to send webhook notifications to the PowerYard handlers

Deployment

PowerYard built the integration and will assist with deployments as needed. If there are any issues, please contact PowerYard Support.

1. Create a Read Samsara API Token named PowerYard Integration with the following granular scopes:

   • Drivers: Read Drivers

   • driver Workflow:

     • Read Documents

     • Write Messages

   • Equipment:

     • Read Equipment

     • Write Sensors

   • Vehicles:

     • Read Vehicles

     • Read Vehicle Statistics

2. Send the token to your PowerYard representative and request the Samsara integration.

   PowerYard Support will configure the account and assist you to set up the platform integrations and integrated alerts workflow:

   • Setup/configuration of PowerYard YMS API Web Service to accept geofence alerts and last stop alerts

   • Setup Samsara webhooks using PowerYard handlers and configure the appropriate Samsara Alerts to send webhook notifications
