In addition to tracking the fuel efficiency of vehicles and drivers, you can also compare your vehicle data to vehicle efficiency benchmarks to analyze vehicle performance. By analyzing strong trends, you can investigate underperforming vehicles or identify vehicles that have the best performance to help determine future investment of similarly efficient vehicles.
Benchmarks are computed monthly across all Samsara fleets, anonymized, and aggregated by vehicle/make/year using data over the past 3 months.
To view the benchmarks available for your fleet, from your Samsara dashboard, navigate to Fuel & Energy ( 
) and select the Benchmarks tab. Data is organized by specific vehicle in the Least Efficient Vehicles tab or summarized in the Average MPG by MMY tab which shows average efficiency by car type.
