The installation process is designed to be quick and easy when you Install a Dash Cam. Dash cams must be mounted outside the driver sight-lines to the road, highway signs, and signals. If your fleet operates in the UK, use the following recommendations for dash cam positioning on the vehicle windshield, based on guidance from the UK Department for Transport:

Reference the following image and zone definitions to determine the appropriate dash cam placement for your vehicle:
The windscreen zones are defined as the following:

Zone A is the vertical area above the steering wheel and contained within the swept area of the windscreen. The dash cam (including the mount and wire) cannot intrude more than 10mm (1cm) into Zone A.

For vehicles over 3.5 tonnes: this area is 350mm (35cm) wide from the center of the steering wheel.

For vehicles under 3.5 tonnes: this area is 290mm (29cm) wide from the center of the steering wheel.

Zone B is the remainder of the swept area of the windscreen. The dash cam (including the mount and wire) cannot intrude more than 40mm (4cm) into Zone B.

Zone C includes the permissible areas of installation on the windscreen.
The ideal location for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) is on the lower-middle area of the windscreen.
When determining a dash cam mounting location, ensure that there are no obstructions to the inward-facing view of the driver and follow the instructions for placement. Obstructions to the driver line of sight will impact the AI Event Detection.
To verify the dash cam placement, see Test Dash Cam Positioning and reference the following mounting recommendations:
Lower-middle mounting position
Ensure that the vehicle dashboard does not obstruct the inward-facing camera view to the driver.
Upper-middle mounting position
Ensure that the vehicle sun visor does not obstruct the inward-facing camera view to the driver. If necessary and possible, remove the middle visor.
The ideal location for LGVs and smaller vehicles is in the upper-middle area of the windscreen.
When you install a dual-facing dash cam, make sure the inward facing lens is not blocked by the rear view mirror and check that the sun visor does not fold down in front of the dash cam. To verify the position you can Test Dash Cam Positioning.
