Dispatch a Vehicle

There are two ways to dispatch a vehicle:

• Dispatch a Vehicle by Address

• Dispatch a Vehicle by Map Location

Dispatch a Vehicle by Address

To dispatch a vehicle to a location in your Address Book:

1. (Optional) Add the address to the Samsara address book (Settings ( ) > Fleet > Addresses/Geofences).

2. Select Dispatch ().

3. From the dropdown, enter the address or latitude and longitude coordinates, or select the address book entry to which you want to dispatch a vehicle. Samsara calculates approximate drive times for your fleet and lists the vehicles in order of arrival time from their current location.

4. Select the vehicle you want to dispatch, create the route, and send it to the driver.

Dispatch a Vehicle by Map Location

To dispatch a vehicle from any map in the Samsara dashboard:

1. Right-click on a point on the map and select Dispatch a vehicle here.

   

2. Evaluate the available vehicles. In selecting a vehicle consider the distance and time of the vehicle from your selected location, driver availability, and any other factors that are important for this route.

3. Select the vehicle you want to dispatch and then click Dispatch.

4. Create the route and fill in the pertinent information, such as the route schedule and any route stops, and assign the route to a driver.

   

5. Select Create Route when finished.
