To customize and streamline the coaching experience for both coaches and drivers, you can configure the coaching settings (Settings ( ) > Fleet > Safety > Coaching).
To streamline events that require coaching, you can enable Samsara to automatically move specific event types to a Needs Coaching status and assign them to a driver's coaching queue. See Automatically Send Events to Coaching for more information.
To streamline coach assignment, you can set up automatic coach assignment for drivers. To facilitate automatic assignments, you must first assign coaches for all drivers.
Enable this setting to send an email notification to the assigned coach when a harsh event occurs.
In-Cab Voice Coaching enables a CM-series dash cam to play in-cab messages for harsh events. Voice coaching can alert the driver real-time for safety behavior events such as speeding or harsh driving (acceleration and braking).
By default, a coach has 14 days to conduct a coaching session with a driver. To customize the deadline, you can specify the preferred number of days for the coaching session. If a coaching session is not conducted by the due date, the session is considered late and reflects on the Coaching Timeliness report.
